As i look back at my life , i have always been an overweight person. I have tried a couple of times to lose weight . Managed to lose 42 lbs but then i gained it and then some back . This time I am working to do this in a healthy manner. I just found out that I have diabetes. So i am learning to eat better because of that and i want to be healthy. My daughter graduates high school this year. and I realize that beyond raising her i have never accomplished anything. I tend to start out strong and the falter and fail. I love Coke (not Pepsi ) and i must say I am proud that I am 40 days free of any kind of soda at all !!I have added more water to my diet and am working my way up to an hour of exercise a day. Each day in the past 40 days i have found that I am getting stronger. Finding that when I think I am hungry i might really be thirsty. I have a hard time eating breakfast so my next goal is to make it a habit and stick to it. Healthy eating .. On my way to a better me'

It sounds like you've accomplished a lot! Graduating daughter, that's not an easy job! I'm amazed that you gave up Coca Cola, it's something I'm having a hard time doing (for me Diet Coke) but I'm addicted to it since childhood. I need the caffeine in it or the fizz, but the afternoon caffeine is something I get. I too am trying to get more water into the system, trying to drink 3 bottles a day, but supposed to drink more I think. I think you sound like a nice person, we all (or most of us) are diet roller coasters here, lose a lot then back up in amounts higher than before. But 1 thing that's different this time is fatsecret and the friends you make that are the same as you. They've been there, done that. There's no shame, no guilt, just be yourself! You are making changes, it's going to be awesome!

I too have been on the weight loss roller coaster. After my last weight gain up to over 320lbs I was diagnosed as diabetic. That's what it took to shake me up 2 years ago. You do not need to eat breakfast if you are not hungry in the morning. The key for me is to listen to my body and eat when I'm really hungry, not according to some arbitrary schedule. I wish you the best of luck and know you will succeed! We are here for your support.

I also do better not having breakfast right away. When I eat in the morning, I can't seem to stop! Congrats on not having the Pepsi!!
