Need Help and Advice Buddies!
I am experiencing serious brain fog. I've heard that can happen on keto usually last a couple days or more. Any advice you can give me to get through this phase? Ugh! I just can't think.

drink more fluid! I've heard that being dehydrated only makes it worse. Other than that... I think you have to ride it out. It will lift !

It happend to me only the very first days. Try to put some MCT oil in your coffee and enjoy =)

Drink broth (with salt added). MCT or coconut oil is good too. My brain fog lasted 3 weeks.

I've experienced brain fog from dehydration and also from low glycogen levels during or after long, hard, active days... especially when not getting adequate sleep....water and magnesium helps, sometimes salt too, sometimes protein bar helps, a nap (if you're able to).... :-)

I don't think water is the issue. You kill 3L every day. Maybe getting back on the multivitamin? Did you have it (fog) when you were on the vitamins?

I've been downing 3L pretty consistently. I don't think it is the vitamin because I just finished my bottle yesterday, and never had this reaction in the past to not taking multivitamin.

I use a magnesium gel on the bottoms of my feet for the past few days to help with midnight leg cramps. Electrolytes and salt is a great suggestion. I'll have to look up the Saltstick - thanks Jimmiepop. I've read that bone broth is good to drink to get sodium up too.

I've discovered similar fog & light headedness,,, was on Ketogenic diet for 10 months, lost 70 lbs,,, was eating healthy but just not enough iron in diet. I became anemic, spent 3 days in Hospital, was told to take triple iron pills and lots of dark green veggies, like spinach... After I built my red blood cells back up, fog went away. So, make sure your getting enough iron and vitamins...

Ok Kp, this is what's up. Your brain is getting Glucose starved. It will pass. Now is when the rubber meets the road so to speak in the keto world. Just stay hydrated and keep your sodium and magnesium intake good. Your brain will start burning Ketones. And you will probably notice it as well. You will start to feel the laser like focus. The fog will pas and you will be almost hyper aware. you are entering Ketosis. Now is when you REALLY need to pay attention to your Carb intake. Too much will knock you right out of Ketosis and you will have to start all over with the Keto Flu again. This is a wagon you should try HARD not to fall off of.

I've been under 20 g of carb per day for the last solid week, and a couple of days I was 5-6 g of carbs (fasting days). So I'm sure it's the ketosis. I will just keep doing what I've been doing but I will add a little more salt. Maybe a salty broth?

Jimmiepop: I'm not one of the hip kids and I have no idea what HMU stands for. I get by with the few: lol, brb, wtf... :)

Draglist: Do you just put the coconut oil straight in your coffee? Do you blend it like the bulletproof coffee? How much?
