Many of us weigh ourselves in the morning before consuming anything and after using the loo.

How many of you have weighed yourself this way but monitored your weight before and after having your bath/shower ???

I have found that my weight drops 0.3kg to 0.7kg after having a hot bath/shower in the morning.

This is probably due to our skin releasing water during a hot bath/shower. Our skin is also an organ and releases water as perspiration.

I also found that my weight is heavier immediately after waking up but drops after about an hour of being awake.

I hope this info helps put some sanity into your weigh-ins that may fluctuate or appear to be too heavy at times.

I weigh on a Saturday at gym and around 10 am. Only weigh once a week at the same time and same scale.

Big Boy, that's absolutely true, at least I have experienced the same effects as you mentioned.

I weigh right after I've woken up & used the loo, and then after a shower. And sometimes when I get back from CF I'll weigh again... My weight doesn't normally fluctuate that much, mostly with about 100 - 200 gr.

Yolanda do you weigh yourself before or after your gym workout? Leksie I think it might depend on what our bodyfat percentage is since obese/overweight people have more skin to hold more water. It's a fascinating observation.

Interesting comment about body fat percentage Big Boy... I always weigh 1-2 kilos heavier just after waking up, compared to weighing myself after a 10km run. I always accounted this for water loss during my run, but the bf percentage thing could also make sense and add onto my big difference - I have an extremely small frame and hold A LOT of body fat (which no one can see and is only picked up with a cali... what ever that thing is called). Anywho, I have never weighed myself after a shower: I'm gonna test that one...
