Question. Whats your personal opinion on one day a week having a cheat day?

I really look forward to my Saturday cheat day. It's like a release of control and I can just enjoy the day. But then when I get on the scale the next day I get so mad at myself for gaining a pound or two. I am just undecided if it's really worth it. I feel like it is until I get on the scale....lol

I started doing a cheat day every two weeks but eventually I dropped it to having one meal of less healthy food and maybe a big dessert on the weekend. I think in the early weeks/months of a diet its good to have a day where you don't worry so much about what you eat. But I'd still keep an eye on the volume of food you eat. I also do believe that when you start hitting plateaus in your weight loss, the weekly or bi-weekly cheat meal may help you break down through that plateau after putting on a pound or 2.

Oh and I agree with some of the others that its not really a "cheat" IMHO. To me its part of the process.

cheaters never really win...I am sure you have heard this before....sooooo ya dont really have to cheat. This is not a game...it's life! just watch what you eat here on FS and keep up the work of losing until you are a loser...;)

I tried that once and I promise you I could eat 6-7,000 calories easy in a day. that can erase a of non cheat days and working out etc.
