May 7, 2017. Second day of my fiftieth year. (Or beginning of my 51st?) Last night was difficult diet-wise because we ended at a restaurant, very sweetly invited to by my wonderful sister and her family to celebrate my birthday. I tried to go relatively light. I ordered Cioppino, which they made for me special because it wasn't on the menu. But I forgot to ask for light on the oil. So it was pretty rich. But at least I avoided the pasta. And we did not get dessert. Today I've been average as far as calories. But I intend to exercise and to eat at home this evening, so I should be able to keep the calories relatively low. I would have liked to fast this morning and eat dinner only, but I screwed that up already. In the past, that technique has worked well for me. Fasting until the evening, that is. That method tended to shrink my stomach, and I grew to enjoy the feeling of deprivation. I know it's not always looked well upon to skip meals. But I think it's a good way to go. Regardless, I want to make sure the pounds start to come off. I don't want to be on this side of 50 and continue with a heavy body. I don't think my back, feet, or neck can take it. I'm going to be writing on here daily in order to keep myself accountable to anyone who wants to read this. Feedback is greatly appreciated. And I hope everyone has a great Sunday!
