Hi all, just a quick check-in as we've been in Namibia for a week now. So far have visited Windhoek (the capital), Etosha national park to see animals, a cheetah rescue, and now in the tribal area in the North, at Epuwo. Photos should give you a better impression!

Oh my goodness - what an exciting adventure! Absolutely love all the photos, especially the one of you stroking a cheetah! It all looks wonderful. Enjoy the rest of your trip 🙂

Yes, it's fabulous! I forgot to mention that I'm eating far too much and my waist is expanding rapidly! Going to try and curb that a little....

Why care? You're on the trip of a lifetime! Plenty of time to diet when you get back.

Wow, so jealous. Having lived out in SA for a time, I am so jealous. Shall I say that again? I AM SO JEALOUS! I miss the smell, it hits one as soon as the plane door is opened and makes the heart swell. Enjoy every second of it and forget your waistline, there's so much else to be doing!

How brave of you to pet the cheetah. I too enjoyed all your pictures, especially of the indigenous Himba women as I was wondering if there still were any out there in the desert.

Enjoy yourself and stay well. At least you have travelled there at the right time of year. I bought shirts and trousers impregnated with mozzie killer and when my daughter went she got bitten and ended up with malaria. Modern medicine puts a stop to that, as long as you get treatment fast enough.

Jen, there still seem to be plenty of Himba that want to keep up their traditional ways and are doing well.

Mindfull, we are taking Doxycycline, so that should stop malaria. However I don't think I've been bitten at all yet. Very few mozzie, and we are using repellent spray and one of those plug-in mozzie killers at night.
