Overweight for almost all my life. My family thought junk food was real food when I was a kid and exercise was for someone else, so I have started from a bad place. So far I have taught myself that vegetables are good for you, and been trying to walk at least 10,000 steps a day this year.

I did get down to 80kg about 10 years ago and had moved from walking to running. I was slim and fit, then had a serious accident with my knee and spent a year learning to walk again so that the knee was strong enough for surgery, then another year learning to walk again, again. By the end of that I was back to >100kg as I had been unable to do anything resembling exercise for 2 years. Now mobility limited as a result of a second accident to the same knee my exercise options are limited - walking, essentially, until I can lose quite a lot more weight. None of this is helped by being depressed and stressed almost all the time.

I'm a stress related eater, and work has been in constant re-organisation with threats of redundancy for the last 4 years. Hate it there, but have not yet been successful in winning the lottery, or finding another job. I can spend months dieting and eating carefully, then blow it all in a massive stress induced binge.

So this is my latest of a long line of diet attempts. This time I am trying to get most of my meals from Huel, which fills me up and doesn't taste too awful. Lunch is part of my employment deal at work, so its hard to have a good handle on the calories going in for that meal but it gives me a much wider variety of fruit and veg than I could have at home.
