Frustrated. I know my scale needs new batteries because each time I step on it, it gives a different weight. i.e. it will fluctuate between 191 & 199. I cannot get it to say the same weight twice. Henry is going to get new batteries in the morning so I can hopefully check my proper weight. It better not be the 199 as I have not given in to my temptations for chips or chocolate bars. I have increased my activity as well. I know that it will not drop off quickly & I will be happy if I even lose a pound a week but I am hoping that the scale will at least show the 1 lb. I am not starving myself & I will not stop no matter what the scale shows. I need to do this for me so that I can be healthier & enjoy my grandchildren for a long long time.

I did well at the shower yesterday & actually did not eat any food other than the little piece of watermelon that my grand-daughter fed me. I also did not get the donut that I normally get at Tim's. My problem for the day though was that I was so tired that I did not eat enough for the day. My challenge for today is to not have my normal bad meal of a bag of potato chips & chocolate bar. I need to go into the drug store to pick up more lancets & test strips so will need to ensure that I do not buy the chips. I will go to the grocery store though & buy a butternut squash for dinner tomorrow though. Will also pick up salad fixings.

This week has shown me how out of shape I am. I can only do the exercycle in small 5-10 min increments but at least I am getting on it. Also getting in more walking.
My husband brought home a package of butter tarts which I love. I told him to make sure he ate them all so they were not there to tempt me. He did so that temptation is gone. Have been out a lot so eating out which is not good but I did bring a doggy bag home after eating only 1/2 the entree at East Sides.
Heading to a baby shower today so will need to be good especially as I have the added stress of being with my mother in law. Love her dearly however it is harder to get her around now & if she is in a negative mood, it stresses me out. Good thing is though that all 5 of my grandchildren will be there. I do love seeing them & it will remind me that I want to get healthier so that I can be around longer to enjoy them.

Did not realize how out of shape I am however after sitting on my butt for years, I should have. Have taken on challenges which involve physical activity - what an eye opener. Got in my walk on Mon but not yesterday. Did not do my cycling either day. Could not sleep tonight so just got of my exercycle. Did 10 min & I was dying. Will try to do more later but need some sleep. Also going down to Kitchener to celebrate with my grand-daughters first full day at school (JK). One good thing I was stressed & out so my normal thing would be to pick up some bbq chips & a couple of chocolate bars. Had to argue with myself and although it was difficult, I decided that I did not really need them. Here's hoping for a good day today even if I don't have a lot of sleep.

I am back & hopefully will follow this more. I know I started off at 240 & found it relatively easy to get down to 200. Since then, I have been stalemated - not so much on the food side (although I do have my sweet tooth binges). But I have been so totally inactive, it is ridiculous. Need to get in better shape for my dear grandchildren - also to have the energy to do the excursions on our trip planned for Feb.
