Had no choice to eat what I did yesterday (Sat. 9/8). Went to a funeral and afterwards us girls went to Folks for "lunker" (that's lunch and supper combined since it was 3:30/4:00). Since I had only eaten my small Atkins breakfast at 9 a.m. I was very hungry. I tried to eat something I thought would be on the Atkins diet, but everything was FRIED. I did eat the chicken tenders (fried) and I thought the tomatoes and onions would be better for me than french fries, but they were also "fried", but boy they tasted so good. I'm sure I'll pay for it when I step on the scale the next time I weigh.

I can't believe that I've been on the ATKINS diet 5 weeks and when I first weighed myself I was at 185. Then on August 27th I weighed 181 which I was thrilled about. Here I am, five weeks later, and after really being very diligent about the diet, (you can check out my food plan) I weigh 183. I'm now convinced that 185 or somewhere in that ranged is what Mother Nature is telling me I'm supposed to weigh. I'm DISCOURAGED and I'm HUNGRY!!!! I was on this diet once before and I felt then the way I do now; LIKE I'M STARVING MYSELF!

Today was a real challenge. I did well on the diet for breakfast but then at noon I had to take my friend to the eye doctor where I sat and read my book for 1 hour. On the way home he wanted to go to Wendy's for lunch. That was my challenge! I ordered the Wendy's 4 piece Chicken Tenders because chicken is on the Atkins diet but it also came with fries and a drink. I gobbled down the 4 pcs of chicken tenders which tasted so good because I was really hungry, but I managed to save the french fries for my dog who loves for me to bring him something whenever I go off and leave him at home alone. However, while feeding him the french fries I couldn't help but eat a couple (3 or 4) of them myself; then I felt guilty. Hopefully I didn't eat enough to ruin my diet or my progress. We'll see when I weigh in next time. On the other hand, I had a real breakthrough. I hate to drink water and usually drink zero calorie drink mixes, but today I actually drank two large glasses of ice water. I'm hoping I'll be able to break away from the zero calorie drinks and just drink more water.

Since I'm following the Atkins diet, I'm not concerned about the 1,667 calories that I've eaten today, which, by the way, is only around 300 calories over what I would be allowed if I were watching my calories. The past two days I've been way under the 1300 calories I'm allowed so I guess I made up for that today. However, I'm only concerned about the amount of CARBS I consume per day. Since I'm allowed to have 20 carbs per day, I did exceed that amount by only 3.42 carbs. I'll do better tomorrow.

Why is it yesterday I weighed 181 and I was thrilled with my progress. Then I worked like a son-of-a-gun sweeping and vacuuming a very large dirty back porch and washed down all the furniture and equipment which took half a day and I was sweating terribly from all the exercise and the humidity. This morning, first thing, I weighed myself and I weighed 182.5. How in the world did I gain 1.5 pounds OVERNIGHT????? Needless to say I'm frustrated.
