FINALLY! The scale moved - just a smidgen - but I will take it! Had a great weekend with lots of success. My first personal challenge for October (a dinner banquet) was hugely successful. Challenges #2 and #3 happen this weekend with a family wedding on Friday and an all day workshop on Saturday where food is provided leaving me with little choices. The wedding is a "once in a lifetime thing" so I will enjoy myself but will make very good choices when it comes to food and drink and I will be out on that dance floor burning as many calories as possible. Saturday, I will pack a small salad for lunch and some fruit for snacks and plenty of water. It is all about planning ahead. My personal challenge this week is to weigh and measure more of my foods. I also want to take my measurements because while the scale has not moved in several weeks, my clothes fit differently.

I almost forgot - I did it too. I signed up for swim lessons. They start on November 2nd and go for 8 weeks. I am also trying to find a Zumba class or some other class following the swim lessons but so far everything at my gym is held during the week and during the day when most people are at work?!?

I hope everyone has a successful week. Remember, if you plan for success you will succeed. If you plan for failure, you will fail. I believe it was Henry Ford (?) who said, "Whether you think you can or can't, you're right."

So, I am laying in bed this morning listening to the thunder storm and telling myself that since it is raining I can't walk outside and maybe I should just blow off the gym cause I have so much to do today. Then that little devil/angel that sits on my shoulder said, "Really, what will you tell Phyllis?" So I pulled my ASS (my new favorite word) out of my toasty warm bed, put my "big girl" pants on, pulled by shoes on and hit the door. It wasn't raining anymore so I contemplated walking outside but decided to hit the gym instead so I could do some weight work. One mile of walking/running on the track and 21 minutes on the elliptical, then downstairs for weights. Unfortunately, the first weight machine I sat at wasn't working, and there were no others available with lots of people staying around waiting. So, frustrated, I drove home disappointed because I didn't feel like I had done enough yet. So, I put a load of laundry in the washer, grabbed my music (listened to "The CD") and walked another 3 miles. 10,592 steps by 9:30 this morning - Yea me!

Now, on to the housework and gardening. Stay good, stay motivated.
