I had my 16 week appointment today and all went well. Heard the heart beat (145 bpm). I wasn't crazy about this doctor, but I'm willing to give her one more shot and we see her the next appointment too. If I don't like her after that appointment I'm going to make a note that when I deliver if possible I'd like a different doctor to deliver!
I don't really think I've gained 6 lbs in 2 weeks, but I might have. However, I drank quite a bit of water this morning since I have to give a urine sample each visit.
Not a whole lot is going on, work has been busy. I have gotten some knitting done though - finished a baby sweater for a friend, made a yoda hat for my sister to give to a friend that just had a baby, and started MY baby's baby blanket! I'll try and post some pictures tonight.

I've been doing well. I am over my cold and switched prenatal vitamins, and feel a lot better. I went to Charleston to visit my family last weekend and even though we didn't do much except talk we had a nice time. Mom and I went to lunch Saturday at a local restaurant, her second time, and it was really good. Then we went to my grandma's and my uncle was there and we all went to dinner. Sunday mom and I talked to my sister on the phone, and I took a nap! My grandma gave me a nice maternity dress from Target that doesn't look maternity.
I am so ready for Greg to be home! I feel like he's been gone for months, and really except for a little time here and there he has been gone since the beginning of June. Right now he's in New Mexico and will be home Sunday. I haven't really talked with him since last Monday, although he was able to text me last night. He did send me a sweet, sweet note before he went on the trail that said what he envisioned the nursery looking like, talked about day care, and how happy and excited he is to be my husband and the father of our baby. Really special! When he gets back we have numerous projects we want to do around the house and just general getting rid of items and organizing.

I have been sick with a cold this week, yuck. And I think I've built up some sensitivity to the pre-natal vitamins (the iron?) since I threw up Thursday morning and 15 minutes after I took them last night. I'm going to call the doctor and see what they recommend. I've heard you can just take other vitamins instead. I'm not too worried about it since the first trimester is the most crucial time of taking them and I'm through that. Plus, I eat healthy (mostly), so I'm getting vitamins from all my fruits and veggies.
Greg is in New Mexico, he left Thursday and won't get home until 8/11. He's leaving this morning on his backpacking trek and so I won't be able to talk with him for the next 10 days. I trying to stay busy with my regular activities so I hope the time passes quickly.

Had my second appointment (first w/ the dr.) yesterday afternoon and it went well. We got to see the baby again, but no pictures. It was moving around so much, which was so fun to see. I loved watching it wiggle and moving it’s arms and legs! I really liked the doctor too and she spent a lot of time with us and I didn’t feel she was rushing into the other room.
I woke up yesterday with a sore throat, which I thought was just allergies because I felt fine. However, I feel worse today, lethargic, achy, scratchy throat, etc. I'm going to try and leave work early so I can go take a nap and hope I feel better tomorrow.
Headed to Charleston this weekend to see the Barenaked Ladies concert w/ my mom for her birthday. This will be my 4th time seeing them, they're always a lot of fun.
