Well this is the end of my first full week on my doctor's diet. It's a pretty stringent diet for me since I LOVE carbs/starches and they aren't really allowed. Also the breakfasts get kind of old since I only have my choice of three.

Some days I'm starving, others I'm pretty good about not feeling too hungry. Luckily the nauseau that I was feeling the earlier part of this week has subsided.

It's restaurant week around here so there are specials at many area restaurants. I went out last night and somewhat cheated, a friend gave me 2 pieces of her fried calamari in exchange for 1/4 of my crab "spring rolls" so I'm sure neither of those helped. I also had 3 beers and a piece of grilled garlic bread (I mean really, who can pass that up, especially with the sauce from my Prince Edward Mussels..mmm

I'm somewhat surprised that I'm at 193, the weight did not budge until after Wednesday I don't think. But maybe the scale is like a watched pot, it never boils.

I absolutely need to start hitting the gym or at least walking since it's cooler out (we've finally snapped out of a record heat summer). I just need to get off my ass. Once I'm sitting I find it hard to find a reason to get up. I need to get over that.

Oh! I just realized. Since I'm below 195, this is the least I've weighed in over 4 years!!

I've gotten a new diet instruction from my doctor. It's his own diet, and he says that the diet isn't something to keep forever (It's apparently the "first stage" of his diet plan). It's carb free except for my breakfast (choice of oatmeal, all bran buds, with 2 tbs of ground flax seed (it smells horrible, luckily the taste isn't as bad as the scent haha), and either 1/2 tsp of honey or 1tsp of cinnamon). I'm to eat 6 times a day including 3 snacks (2 of which are fruit, the other is 10-15 almonds and then to use a piece of dark chocolate as a lozenge). The only red meat I can eat is bison-I've never had it before but bought some ground bison so on "hamburger night" I can have that instead haha.

I'll see how much weight I lose in two weeks of this diet. If it is significantly more than Weight Watchers, I'll consider sticking with this diet. Otherwise I'll just go back to WW.

I'm trying to treat this as a game instead of a "sentence" haha. We shall see!!
