I NEED to stop drinking soda in great quantities. It would save so many calories for the good food.

Doing good CMP. I hope your leg feels better soon. Looking at the challenge we are above the fray for so many who have already dropped out. If water is a problem, I suggest Mio water. You may have seen a few commercials. It is easy to carry and to squirt in - no mess. The lighter colored ones are better in my opinion as the heavier ones stick in my mouth. But there is nothing in it but chemical flavoring so you can get more water without the calories. I love soda as well. I needed to make a change. I switched to diet and that was fine but I was still drinking too much and it isn't as good as water and the flavor wasn't as nice. I got the sodastream to make soda at home. You get a refillable CO2 bottle and you can carbonate and flavor it yourself. There are a lot of diet flavors and the best part is you can add as much as you like for your own choice.

soda is a killer for the diet. You are right about it using up calories. I found I kicked the habit over time. Cut back to one can a day. Then to every other day or so. Pretty soon, I was done with it, and happily so. I now mostly drink water, and also make a pitcher of fresh brewed herbal iced tea most days. That gives me something flavorful, without the calories, or chemicals. Good luck, and give yourself time. The cravings are tough at first, but easier if you proceed slowly.
