I'm in a yo-yo plateau! it's especially upsetting since I walked over 3 miles after the iHop meal. I'm used to moderate fluctuations but a pound and a half back and forth over the past four days!

Ok, ok, keep going on the plan. Have to get rid of the thought distortions including ruminations.

I know the scale will go down again and my non-scale wins yesterday were practicing mindful eating while at a restaurant and walking extra distance but taking all the dogs on the longer route.

You will never be able to exercise/walk out a bad diet

When I go to restaurants I like to overestimate by 100-300 calories. Are you tracking every single calorie like if your life depended on it?

If you ate at IHop, chances are the meal was very salty. Water weighs A LOT. Like waaaaaay more than you think it does. Take this from someone who is an End Stage Renal Disease patient (ESRD) whose weight, when I was on dialysis, would increase over 2 days by 5-7 pounds if I drank too much water. I don't sweat a 3 or 4 pound increase after going out to a restaurant. It usually takes a couple of days for it to come back off too, at least for me.

@Rosio19 I've always heard it as, "Weight is lost in the kitchen". Or recently, on here, someone said "You eat (or diet... can't remember) to change your weight. You exercise to change your shape." I like yours too.

Yes. I am too!! Up and down 1-2 pounds everyday. Stick with it. I got some great advice on my comments and have been trying hem. Seem to work. Lots of water and maybe more cardio if you can. Good luck!!

That is true newg you lose weight in the kitchen and for body composition you exercise

Cmp9969 I can lose 5-7 pounds with lack of sleep, a round of golf, or a good run. I can gain weight by holding a gallon of water on my scale. In fact, I gain about 8 pounds when I have a gallon of water in my hand. Amazingly enough, if I lost 5-7 pounds one day it seems to come back the next. IDK, rumor floating around the glycogen tank is it has something to do with stress, or exercise, or both. But, if I want to lose and maintain the weight loss I probably need to be conscious of how often I eat out and what I stick in my pie hole.

Kudos for mindfully eating at the restaurant, and for eating less than you usually would have! In social situations, I tend to be so engaged in conversation that I hardly notice how fast I am eating or how well I am chewing my food - both of which can be dangerous post GBS, and I pay for it dearly.
