Wow I actually lost some weight! Finally! Too tired to get excited much over it, been sleeping really really badly lately, every tiny movement hubby makes wakes me up and I am getting seriously moody and overtired. Not good for us as a couple and not good for me healthwise. I got 3 hours sleep last night and have cried most of this morning.

I dunno if it is perimenopause (I am 40) or elongated PMS (no TOM for months now) or post quake trauma thingy. All I know is I am going crazy with the lack of sleep.

Anyone got any ideas? I am desperate!

Oh, Squiggs, I am so sorry. When hubby can't sleep he takes some Benadryl. It is mild and helps him sleep without the hangover effect. Perhaps you should talk to your doctor about it.

Sometimes every once and a while my husband will sleep on the couch. Not that were mad or anything, he says he doesn't want to keep me up with his tossing and turning. I think its kinda sweet that he thinks of me like that. It could be pre-meno. I am 35 and my doc told me I already have symptoms! Couldn't believe it! Go to bed early tonite and try and catch up on your sleep.Take a shower and then get it bed and snuggle up with your favorite blankey! Don't over do it on the caffeine today either. It might give you a head ache. Plus I always like comfort food like soup when I feel bad. I hope you feel better.

Oh squiggs, I could have wrote this my self! In fact I more or less did! Let's hope we both get a good nights sleep tonight!

Nice job Squiggs on the loss. Sorry to hear you are getting sleep deprivation though. I agree with Stef, Benadryl works wonders. I'll pray that you get some sleep tonight. Talk soon.:)

Squiggs, if the Benadryl doesn't work please see your doctor. Sleep deprivation left untreated can be dangerous to your health. I agree that a nice hot shower or bath with a cup of chicken broth, followed up by a nice warm bed should help. My husband snores so loudly I think the windows shake Lol. I have to plug his nose until he turns over. Hope that you get a better nights sleep. Congrats on the weight loss my friend.:D

While I'm sure all the aftershocks have stressed all your body's systems, sleep irregularities combined with no TOM for months (assuming you've been fairly regular prior to this) might warrant a visit to your doctor. Melatonin could also be prescribed (not sure if it's available OTC) which helps get your sleep/awake cycles back in order. I used some for about a week when we moved to the other side of the globe. In any event, I'm sure you'd like a medical opinion if your lack of TOM is due to stress, perimenopause, an abnormality, or pregnancy!!

Thanks Stef, he feels pretty much that he is sleeping okay. I am thinking I am hyper aware of any movement that I may normally sleep through. And yes I am excited about a loss - it is a miracle LOL

redgirl yeah I eventually went to the couch to sleep. I would hate to have to sleep in seperate beds in seperate rooms but if I stops me being grouchy from lack of sleep it might be a good thing! I don't intake any caffiene at all so that isn't the problem, and it is summer so just a thin sheet and not much else right now LOL

Thanks Cindy. yeah I had to take something a while after the main quake as I wasn't sleeping or coping, but I don't want to get addicted to them. I might look into Benadryl. My skin wont tolerate hot water so it is nearly cold showers for me LOL.

Sandy I have had the irregular TOMs checked out very thoroughly and there is basically no explanation they can find LOL. Yeah I might have to go to the doc soon anyway so I will ask then. Thanks,

I have a skin condition that has gone dormant right now. I was on steroids and could not get warm in the slightest or I would break out in sores all over my body. The dermatologist had me taking cold showers for years. I had to stay in the airconditioning when it wasn't cold outside. Breaking a sweat to exercise would send me back to the doctor covered in more sores. It wasn't worth the stress for me at the time. I hope that you are able to get some relief from your skin problems. Can you use aloevera? Staying away from caffiene is the best thing you can be doing right now. Hope that you are able to get some relax time in with all the stress from the aftershocks. You are in my prayers my friend.

Thanks so much Cindy! My blisters are on my hands and feet, thankfully no where else. It seems to get worse with heat and wetness more than anything. Trying a low nickel diet but I dunno if it is really helping at all. I am so glad your skin is healthier! That is awesome!!!!

I have some skin problems also, due to my Lupus. Can't go out in the sun without a 70 SPF sunblock on or I get sores. Cindy, glad that your's is under control!

Wish I had all of ya'll when I was going through that horrible ordeal with the major skin sores everywhere. However, I would have probably drove all of you crazy because I was in severe pain and itching.

I understand and I am the same way when I am in the middle of a flare!

Yeah for the loss, sorry about the lack of sleep. I have had the same problem for years, I took over the counter sleep aids, some made me drowsy in the am, then nighttime cold meds. 5 years ago started restoril, and it works good, no side effects. But I dont take it to go to sleep, I take it in the middle of the night when I wake up and cant go back to sleep. Sometimes it works sometimes not. I actually started sleeping better than ever before when I started this WOE, but the surgery messed everything up and now I am back to lack of sleep. It is also a symptom of perimenopause (I have lots of the symptoms and am 43) and a symptom of hypothyroid. Good luck, get some help because it also causes weight gain, so that could also be a big part of our problem.
