Fresh start.

Today is the first day of a 4 to 6 month challenge I set up for myself. The challenge is to lose weight but more importantly to practice and implement healthy lifestyle changes, to gain strength, health and stamina.

Some background info:
Hubby and I have been trying to fall pregnant. And During December we finally got that big fat positive pregnancy test! However, about three weeks ago I miscarried. I have some health issues, which I am dealing with which might have contributed.

On Thursday I saw my doctor, who agreed that I should wait 4 to 6 months before trying for another baby. He checked out my weight loss plan and agreed that it looks healthy and realistic.

Now for the plot twist:
Today is my birthday and would have been day one, but the doctor I saw on Thursday tested positive for covid, and because we had been in close contact (he touched my neck to feel for glands ect), I am in self-isolation. This morning I woke with a headache and a sore throat. My doctor tested positive on Friday, so I am not sure if it is too soon for me to show symptoms?

Anyway, I normally weigh at the gym, as I don't own a working scale. For all of the reasons above, I haven't been to the gym since December. The last time I weighed myself was on 12 January, I was 72kg but pregnant and I was fully dressed as it was at the obgyn.

So, I am setting my starting weight as 72kg, but realistically it is probably a little less. As I have lost some of the pregnancy bloatedness.

I started this morning with cake! But plan on following the 80/20 rule. (Healthy eating 80% of the time). The rest of today I will stick to healthy foods, however, since I am in quarantine I am mostly at the mercy of whatever my husband brings to the bedroom door. We are blessed to have a two bedroom place and are able to isolate from each other.

I will log all calories and run in place today. I should be out of isolation on Monday 08 February (if I dont test positive for covid). When I get the all clear, I will get back to the gym.
