I looked back at this time last month and I'm still a kilo down from then so hoping this is just things being slow. I was hoping my new scale would tell me if this is water or muscle but it's not giving me a clue as these also bouncing around with out much science.

Just by the fact alone that you weigh yourself daily, I would think it’s just water fluctuations/retention. You’re doing superb and your meals look delicious!

Thanks. 😊 What's weird is today the fancy scale says there's more water but all other readings are the same as yesterday except the weight which is down by 0.1. on other days the water percent is the same but there are massive shifts in fat percentage/sub fat. I'm not seeing any logic. 👻

I also use a body composition scale. I did read up about them quite a bit before investing so much money and most articles and advisories said the same thing, that with a BCS, you should aim to weigh less frequently for more accurate results. I do that, just because I also connect it to this BCS app, so I like to see significant drops in my BMI and metabolic age. If I weighed everyday, water fluctuations would mess up my BMI readings .. so if I am sneaky and want to weigh in early, then I’ll use my normal scale. Maybe read up on the scales. In addition, if you can afford to, get an accurate scan done with a health professional so that you can compare it with your BCS. Mine was around the same, so I knew I could trust my scale.

Also, ensure that you calibrate your scale before each weigh in. Many people do not calibrate their scales and that is why they get several different readings even when they haven’t moved the scale. Calibration is key to accuracy!

thanks thilesha. I think there is a lot potentially going on including not being able to register muscular changes from strength yoga because that's not showing on the scale but I have noticed the exercises getting easier. I'm also wondering whether I should up my calories as FS app recommended 1700 for weight loss but I checked with several other BMR calculators which said 1500 for the same stats. maybe I should eat more this weekend and see what effect it has. trying to stick to the goals for the Easter challenge but it's not having much effect so time to rethink what works for me.
