Maintenance Day 35 Waist = 34 5/8"; No Change
Busy productive week. Wardrobe refurb continues apace. Realized even boxers were on the sag. Upgraded to boxer briefs. Much better, but ridiculously overbranded. Saving that rant for another day... Said upgrade, as it turns out, results in a tighter waistline and a notch in on the belt, a 34, and a recent upgrade itself from the 36 it antecedes, which was flopping about on its innermost notch.
Picked up a new plague-era shopping technique in the thrift from a, uh, larger woman, who, in the absence of fitting rooms, stripped down to her stuffed spandex right in the aisle to try on a dress. Confronted with a fitting room blockade at the H&M while simultaneously being told via overhead that "fitting rooms are now open and fully sanitized every 16 seconds for your health and convenience," I whipped my shirt off in the middle of the sales floor and proceeded to try on my armload of shirts with absolute impunity.
For those unfamiliar, H&M offers new clothes at near thrift prices, sans patina and manufacturing quality. So once you have your size, you have to try at least three shirts to find the one that's cut and sown properly and actually fits. Small chore indeed for the joy of knowing your perfectly fit v-neck only set you back $6.99.
Happy to report that I survived said interlude and escaped with my two figure haul without so much as a look askance. Less happy to report that I realized, for the first time, right there in the middle of the damn store with my shirt off, that the aforementioned combination of boxer briefs and belt cinch put that last couple pounds of back and belly fat on full blast - like a freshly tweaked bare nip under a snug muslin, a magnet to the eye...
Oh well. At least the tan was passable.
