Monday morning weigh in and I am down a little. Slow and steady will get the job done. I felt more hungry this past week so it was a little more challenging but I didn't stray. I am still walking 40 minutes a day on my treadmill but am thinking to either increase time or bump up the speed a little since I don't feel as tired when I am done.

I am still waiting for my sleep apnea machine to arrive. I wish it would get here already as I am sure it will help my energy level. I am so tired all the time and am not sleeping well. Yesterday I had a major headache which happens when I get exhausted.

Other than being tired I see progress in everything else. Thank you to everyone for sharing your stories. I read them every morning and it helps keep the motivation going!

Thanks
Sue

Are you getting a cpap or a bipap? You definitely should feel more energy if you get adequate oxygen sleeping. And here's to sticking my big nose in where unsolicited - why do you feel if you aren't tird at the end of your walk it isn't good enough? I think the 'no pain, no gain' of the 80's is as old and tired as the 'egg white's only' omlette.

My mother-in-law got one about a year ago and she says it has changed her life. She was always feeling run down and tired prior to getting the machine. I hope yours shows up soon! Keep up the good work.

BELLA, I think she may mean that *since* she isn't as tired as she *used* to be after walking ,she wishes to increase or do more. She's PROGRESSING! :D Please correct me,Sue,if I'm incorrect. & WTG! :D

LOL TIC - I feel like parents discussing the child here.... that very well MAY be .. but 40 mins a day on a treadmill will be just as good as 60 or 80 esp if she's feeling more energized. Put that extra energy toward some strength training or just treating the body well instead of pushing to the next level and risking injury or burn out.

I am getting an Apap machine for moderate sleep apnea. The test shows I have 21 apnea moments per hour while sleeping. Just waiting for the call to pick it up. I am sure I will feel a lot better once I am not so chronically tired all the time. As for the workout. I was so obese and out of shape when I started walking that I was doing 30 minutes at 2.5 mph. Once I got to a point where I was able to complete that without feeling winded or too tired I would up it 5 minutes or increase the speed. Right now I am doing 40 minutes total. 2 mins at 3.0 mph 8 mins at 3.1 mph 20 mins at 3.2 mph 8 mins at 3.1 mph 2 mins at 3.0 mph I've reached a point where I actually feel like I could still keep going at the end of my time. Not winded, not feeling very tired. So I figure it is time to add some incline (currently at zero) or maybe add 5 minutes or bump up the walking speed. Something to keep it a challenge but not to over do it. 3.2 mph is listed as a moderate walk and I never feel I am walking faster than I can handle. If I bump up speed I do it .1 mph at a time, time I add 5 minutes or I can take the incline to 1. I would not do all 3 at once, I just change one thing at a time. I average 2.1 miles each walk so I would like to keep getting that up as well. Just trying to keep the progress going and maybe someday work my way up to a 5K. Thanks for all the support. And I do agree with Bella about the "no pain, no gain" stuff. It isn't that I want to push to the point of pain, it is that I really feel like I could keep going when I am done.
