I get it. I find a couple of things work for me. One is not having high calorie food available. The next is to have a 'pause' where I ask myself why I am eating this? I may still eat it but at least I am aware of my actions. Then, often while I am eating the thing I reached for, I think about what other options I had in the moment. Another way is to set a timer for 10 minutes and tell yourself if you still want it after the timer goes off you can. Often the feeling has passed and you don't actually want it anymore.
