I don't know, but somehow I managed to lose 3 pounds in about a week and a half. This happened even though D was in town for 4 days and 4 days later, I took a 3 day trip to San Francisco. In both instances, all my meals were eaten in restaurants. With D, we only ate 2 meals a day, but they were large meals with leftovers. In SF, I only had 1 meal a day, but they too were massive. I was also drinking beer while D was here, and Bloody Mary's in SF. Oh, if you are ever in San Francisco and manage to find your way to Vesuvio Cafe, treat yourself to a Jack Kerouac cocktail.
Anyway, the important thing is that I managed to lose 3 pounds while on vacation. And for the first time in 15 years, I did not have to ask for a seat belt extender on the plane!
