I’m suspicious of the fact that my “husband “ wants to eat cake and feel good about it, so he gives me a small slice and says it’s ok.. let’s just enjoy it together!! Really 🧐

My husband loves sweets! I’m gluten and dairy free. He tries to get sweets I can eat too, and it’s not even tempting because I don’t really like sweets. The chips though- that’s my weakness!

Mine tries to feed my ice cream. But ice cream doesn't temp me. I'm more a cake/pie gal.

He just wants your acceptance and your approval of his eating of a non-nutritious food. It is no different than passing around a joint or pouring 2 glasses of wine to share, when really it's just the person pouring that wants the alcohol. Is your Husband/Partner diabetic or watching their weight? The need for approval of their food choice is even more important then. Good for you for sticking to your meal plan! 💪🏻

My husband has hypertension and borderline diabetes. He’s fit and in shape but he’s still a black man in his sixties and need to make better choices anyway.. he’s been eating that lil crunch cake up a storm. 🎼 I look away! Look away! Look away Dixie lane ! 🎼

Yes, this is very similar to drugs like Bananas mentioned. He is enabling you and that could be an issue. This could also be a low self-esteem issue. I've seen this before. The husband wants to keep the wife fat because he's worried if she loses weight, she might not love him and will be more desirable to others.
