Still 128.9 on the dot. I decided to set a new weight goal and take my target calories down to 1700. Just see how it goes. Most of my life I thought of myself as sturdy, stout peasant stock. But truth be told, I actually have a pretty small frame.

With the caveat that if I don't lose or even gain, but I'm building muscle and fitness, I can live with that

Also decided I need a BHAG (big, hairy, audacious goal) for 2023. I was thinking about 2000 miles under my own steam, but since I no longer road ride, that might not be feasible. By miles, I would count exercise equipment miles, too. 1000 would be doable...but perhaps too much so. Dunno. Will have to noodle on it. Also was chatting with a friend last night about maybe doing a half marathon

Anyone else thinking ahead to 2023?

Absolutely! And written down, posted up, so as not to lose sight of the days going by and 'What did I do today to accomplish this'? Easier said than done but if I wait/start on New Years Day, well most know how that goes :-( 😆

So do you and I need to enter into a 2023 Resolution pact here in about a month, LivinBreezy? 😉

Same here writing. I'm almost certain that I will go down further even after reaching my goal weight. At least until I'm satisfied with what I see. 2023 will focus on toning and maintenance. Maybe will involve gym sign up 😅. Will see.

I am thinking ahead also! I want to continue to lose. If I can get to 191, I will no longer be in the "obese" category. But it is SO difficult lately! The losing is SOOO slow!!! I am eating more than I should and I need to start gaining muscle. I know I have lost muscle along with fat during the last 1.5+ years. I don't think a gym membership would be used enough, but I need the motivation (discipline) to get some workouts done! I know you can do a half marathon- probably even enjoy it...... Best of luck continuing your journey!!!

I'm enjoying having a gym membership more than I thought I would, ginome. I used to go to the YMCA, but I prefer this one. Closer to my house, no kids running around in areas allegedly just for adults, no warnings from staff that people are ripping off stuff from the lockers. I think my shoulder is almost to the point where I can make a date with my coworker to learn how to lift. Hopefully this isn't just the first flush of excitement from getting the membership but a start of a regular habit

3kids2 -- you can do it! 😃 I'll take your encouragement as a sign that I can to. My friend actually suggested we meet in San Francisco to run a half there. She lives up in the Olympic Peninsula, so it's kinda, maybe halfway? 🤔 At least about the same distance for each of us to travel. I've never been to San Francisco, and I could conceivably take the California Zephyr there, which is incredibly scenic and I love trains. The hard part would be breaking it to my husband that I want to take the trip

Writingwyo, San Francisco has been on my mind for 5 years now. Last time I was there was for my 35th Birthday, way too long ago! I've been making a mental 'outline' of the next few years, bucket list stuff to start soon, just because 😉 why wait? Resolution for 2023? What do you have in mind? I've already started. BTW, taking a scenic train trip IS already on my list!

I am definitely not thinking ahead. I am a one day at a time person. Being a retired Critical Care Nurse kind of wires one that way. LOL.

I think planning ahead is always good. Less stressful, even if things go a bit different. I think whatever you plan you will accomplish it very well!:)💪👍

Was in SF yesterday, and you should probably tell Hubs now so that he can research it and support this goal. I have a muscle-y pic of T2 Linda Hamilton as my laptop wallpaper for motivation. It’s working for me 🔮. The key to marathon training is a slow build up of distance done several times a week. Lots of schedules online.

I have 2023 and 2024 planned. it gives me motivation and goals to reach. any exercising through end of 22 is out due to surgery I had 5 days ago so I'm walking again, miss pilates already, but no major heart rate is allowed for at least 4 to 6 weeks while I heal. I'm just grateful I have made my way of eating my norm and hopefully don't pack on pounds before 1st of the year. I'm 18lbs from goal and right now praying I can maintain.

I like to make New Year's resolutions or plans for the next year. Often they are financial. Like buy a new TV or pay off the car. But most are food related. Several times giving up potato chips for the year was a goal. One year I actually made it until November! They do a half marathon in Folsom every year around Lake Natoma. I used to like just a couple houses from the trail. I ran it once, but not on the actual day of the run.

LivinBreezy -- if you want a scenic train ride, take the California Zephyr from Denver to Grand Junction. Go straight to the observation car. Scenery is unreal. We went in October and the cottonwoods just glowed. And there is literally NO way to see Gore Canyon from inside it other than the train, unless you're a world class kayaker. Take a day or two in Grand, rent a car and drive through the Colorado National Monument. One of our favorite places!

tlowlife -- even mellow walking is exercise. Just take care of yourself while you heal 🤗 JustBananas -- I'm not quite ready to tell hubby yet, in part because I'm not sure I want to go, but in part because he's not always hip to my crazier schemes 🤪😂

Morticia -- I got to be the same way when I was an editor at a daily newspaper. If I hadn't learned to start every day with a blank slate, I would have lost my mind!

Fritzy and Navywifeski -- I was at a memorial service Friday where the eulogy had the deceased's rules for life. One of them was to always have something to look forward to. I'm not usually into New Year's Resolutions, but this year, thinking about 2023 has me excited! 😃

@writing: a scenic train ride IS already on my bucket list. The hubby and I took a 2.5 hour train ride in the Rockies last February! It was amazing!! I appreciate the suggestion about the California Zephyr, though! That trip sounds awesome!!! New train trip plan - ✅!! Thanks again!

@Writingwyo, Thank You! I have read about the California Zephyr and NOW that I have a trusted source (yes, that is you 😊) it's become active in my plan 'book'. So excited!
