o.o whaaaa!! panic setting in a lil...
no wrong way!!
is this normal when adding regular weight lifting?! Despite my longevity in weight lifting, i didn't measure and record as much as I am now. (However, i was a drug/alcohol addict from 13-26 so yeah...) Back then, recomposition wasn't important to me, i just enjoyed doin' the thing...
Everything went up-BMI/Body fat (36.1 went to 36.7!!), water weight, muscle mass( 23.7 to 23.4). Gained half an inch on my arms. I did lose nearly an inch on chest actually...thatsgood
Hit me with the best weight lifting tips!! Whats helped you? i wanna see that body fat drop!!

Maybe take a good, hard and honest look at your food choices and portion sizes. If you want to follow an anti-inflammatory diet like your RD prescribed, Sunday pancakes are out, hardboiled eggs are in. Bread/toast/rolls/cake/cookies -- all things with flour and added sugars are a No. Dairy/yogurt/cheese/milk are also inflammatory. Giving up these irritants will go far with fat loss. Think protein and fiber from fresh or frozen vegetables (Brussel sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, kale, beans, asparagus, etc.). Still meeting with your dietician tomorrow?

I don't do any weight lifting so have no advice there. But a change of .4 pound isn't something I would panic over myself. After coffee and water all day I am about 3 pounds heavier in the evening than I was in the morning. By the next morning it's usually gone.

Fritzy makes a good point about minor fluctuations. However, if your weight has gone up since you joined FS last summer, it's not a water wobble -- it's a trend of too high calories for weight loss. I think in my first 30 days of eating 1200-1300 kcal, I lost 12 pounds, and then another 4 pounds the next month, then 8 more the following month. In other words, the weight will drop steadily if there is a constant reasonable deficit.

Weight lifting will definitely do this short term, but don’t get discouraged!! Your getting stronger and making great progress!!! 😊😘

In my opinion, losing body fat means you need to eat at a slight calorie deficit. Strength training helps, but if you are eating in a surplus, you won’t lose weight. I’d also track your calories, takes the guess work out.

Staying in the 190s many days is a row is what kinda freaks me out. Ive been staying calories deficit, and JustBananas- you are onto something just been hesitant to remove specific foods winh having a binge eating disorder diagnosis. I havent bitced in a few months. One of the triggers is omitting specific food/food groups. Dietician thinks we can start removing one thing at a time so we might see a decrease instead of increase. I weighed more this time around compared to when i saw her in Sept so school food is definitely not helping. Goingto be a lil more aggressive about what im eating and maintain not binging.
