I am new to FS. I started calories counting last week because my weight continued climbing. I was up to where I was when I was full term in my pregnancies. I had low energy- that 2pm slump. When I rejoined a work out class I used to enjoy and began walking more, I found my knees hurting. I have been continuing to be active every day walking/biking but as of this week I will no longer be going to my high intensity group exercise class. Instead, I will begin later this week weight lifting to build muscle. I have a calorie goal of 1450/day and since I want to build muscle I am trying to get approx 40% of my calories from protein. My highest weigh in was 149 lbs the week before I began calorie counting. I'm now 7 days in and my average weight last week was 145. I'm interested in changing my lifestyle to become healthier overall. Counting calories for the first time in my life has been an eye opening experience. I feel like I'm eating more food now because I'm making healthier choices. It has been great so far.
