I'm weighing in a day early because DIL#5 told me she is taking us out for a Chinese Buffet tonight. This is the first time she has offered to take us out for dinner and she is on a limited budget so GoodMan and I decided to say yes to whatever restaurant she chooses. I will eat veggies and hummus before we leave home and make the best choices I can while I'm at the restaurant. I will remind myself this is not a diet, it is going to be a way of life. I will go to restaurants many times in my life...I just need to learn to make good choices while I'm there. The early weigh in is because I know everything there will be laden with salt, not because I plan to over indulge. I just don't want to get too discouraged tomorrow at my usual weigh in. I can drink a lot of water over the weekend and I should be able to flush my system by Monday.
I will be running in to the same restaurant issues during the weekend. GoodMan and I will be visiting DS#1's family. They will chose the restaurant that suits their family's needs (they have two autistic sons and a 1-year old). Again, I will make the best choices I can wherever we go and remind myself I am learning a new way to eat out. A way that will serve me for the rest of my life. Eating out doesn't have to mean I go waaay off my plan. It may mean I have something I wouldn't normally have, but whatever I eat will be done mindfully.
