Hello! I am on a low carb diet and am looking for some opinions on when to stop eating for the day. An hour before bed, two? Does it make much difference on a LCHF way of eating? Thanx for the help

I try to stop eating at least 3 hours before bedtime. Sometimes more. I’m down to two meals a day. Lunch and dinner. Dinner usually by 7-8pm. Then I go to bed around midnight. Try a couple of different times and see what works best for you as far as Weight loss and heartburn, indigestion.

I intermittently fast eating between 10 AM and 6 PM. I get home from work at 4:15 PM, and have a husband who cooks for me so it's easy...for me. ;)

Hi! It doesn’t matter what time of the day you eat as long as you’re not going over your calorie intake! You need to cut 500 calories a day in order to lose 1 pound a week.

I also intermittent fast and have found it far more effective than counting calories. It might be something you want to google. There are some good YouTube videos explaining the benefits.

I'm on LCHF and do intermittent fasting as well, most days. I do 20/4 - my window of eating is from 6-10pm. However, I didn't jump in to that right away, I started very slowly pushing my first meal of the day back further and further until I was doing what I'm doing now... and IF isn't for everyone. But to answer your actual question... the more I research and read, the more I find that when you eat isn't nearly as important and what you eat. I have several body builder friends that swear by eating a high protein snack right before they go to bed. I have other fitness guru friends who swear that they never eat after 6pm... the more I research and read, the more I'm finding that a lot of the prevailing 'wisdom' on weightloss is a bunch of conjecture and theory that isn't based on any kind of medical science fact. I personally do not believe that eating before bed causes you to gain weight... unless you are eating cake, ice cream, and potato chips. And in that case it's the food you are eating before bed, not the fact that you are eating... I think that you would gain the same amount if you ate that at 11am or 11pm. The best part about LC or LC/HF though is the aspect of appetite suppressant that comes with it... so I think that most people doing it find that they simply eat less, which results in lower caloric intake and more consistent weight-loss... regardless of when they eat. TL;DR - eat when you are hungry, try not to snack mindlessly, don't starve yourself if you realize it's two hours before bed and you haven't eaten yet. This is a lifetime commitment, build your plan around what works for you!

I agree with mostly of what Britt1975 has posted. It may understand (as she said. “Right foods at the right times” and giving that near 16 hr window including sleep time to get through the first 8 hours process food eaten and the time after that to renew recycle and use stored fat and flush toxins from those fats with constant water intake (better to start as soon as you wake, instead of most inbox in the four hours before bed. I still drink then, just not as much)
