I changed my goal weight. I like the idea of trying for more reachable goals. I think "knowing continuosly" how much weight I wanted to lose was becoming overwhelming. Especially because this journey requires so much patience! It was causing me conflict and soon there were ideas of "sabotage" floating in my head.

So now I'm on a different "track"! (hehe) And my achievements will be many! How can you go wrong?

Great idea! Although I have set my offical goal weight at my ultimate goal, I don't focus on that goal, but only on the next 1/2 stone (7lbs). When I had 77lbs to lose, that was just overwhelming, but by taking things just 7lbs at a time, it's made the task seem doable, and some now I've only got just over four out of the original 11 mini goals to reach the big one!! Try planning in some rewards (non-food, of course!) along the way to give yourself something else good to focus on! :)

Keep it up! it's all mental, eh? As long as we keep going, that's what's important! :)

oh yeah, I'm doing that too. I like it so much better! I'm almost to my first goal now, so I'm getting a sense of accomplishment even though I still have a ways to go. I hope it works for you, too! (though you're doing great anyway :)

I changed my goal weight too. I have it set every 20 pounds now, but I may even change it to every 10 pounds. Thinking about losing 60 pounds was a little stressful, but this is much easier! When I reach my goal, I think I may buy some new Jeans, or workout clothes, or new running shoes, as a reward!

Right on GIRL!! Way to go, recognizing what works for you!!! I have been that way forever... give me a mini goal that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with and I'll be more apt to try harder to attain and achieve it! I know where I "should be", and it's much farther than where my goal is and I'm prolly going to have one or two more mini goals before my true goal will be up. But... it WORKS for ME! =D lol I can't wait to see you hit your mini goal!! Keep up GREAT WORK!!

I must admit, I keep my ultimate goal what I want to be eventually... but only ever focus day to day. I set myself little goals of 10lb losses... so that they don't seem unachievable. I too had 60lbs to lose when I started this, which was very overwhelming until I started making those mini-goals. Whatever works for you though and gives you that focus is the important thing. Keep up the great work though... you're doing fantastic. ;o)
