Finally think I was able to eat enough in a single setting...basically 3 lbs of ground beef out of the 4 I was trying to consume. I was so full I nearly couldn't finish the last bite. I do not feel sick at all like I would if I overate bread or salad...just full. My teeth/gums are surprisingly feeling great despite all the coffee as usual. I had to wake up 2 hours earlier than normal to get my daughter to 0-hour class and surprisingly I am making it through the day-- I don't even think I yawned once. A week ago I was feeling tired with 4 pots of coffee and prescription stimulants. I'm trying to be super skeptical, but I am feeling great! Fewer BM despite significant increase in calorie intake (found out this is also linked to lower risk for cancer). Most notably (if there is a most) is that my eyesight is improving significantly despite sitting in front of a screen all day as usual. Teeth/Vision have been as quick to improve as they were to decline; I just can't believe my teeth and gums have no pain at all-- they've been bothering me for at least 6 years.

Look like you started carnivore on Aug 4. What where you doing before that? I've been looking into it myself as a possible direction for when I'm done with the healing water fast I'm now on. I'm placing an order next week with a farmer for beef liver, ribeye, oxtail, chicken and chicken feet (don't like coffee but I love broth). Very interested in your experience.

VAM49....yes, just started myself...thought it was BS 6 months ago, but after enough anectdotes, it became more appealing. I actually know a few extended fasters that progressed to carnivore. For sure, I know trying to fast after carbs is like to fall asleep after being slapped in the face. I went from low fat to sick to paleo to less sick then to cyclical keto which was the best one I had found. The problem with cyclical was constant GI distress because every 5-10 days I would throw all the sugar back in for 6-10 hours...though I dropped weight like no one's business. The crappy part was that after a day or 2, it was like trying to sleep fasted...doesn't work well. I eventually became interested in fasting, but it became hard for me to eat more than 2500 calories on non-fasting days. For me, that meant very little weightloss because I never successfully refed after fasting. I ran into a few doctors that actually consume carnivore that pushed me towards researching it more. Then, I can't tell you how many people I've heard eliminated depression, anxiety, and biologics. Both my brothers and my mother are on biologics for autoimmune issues, and I have more issues than them combined (but I don't like drugs, especially biologics) Both my brothers are in fantastic shape, probably top 5% of the USA if I had to guess, but they have to stop their meds anytime they catch a cold. My youngest bro just had a baby and they use daycare, so he experienced a lot of pain because he had to stop treatment of symptoms while dealing with almost constant colds. My other bro essentially gets paid to camp, so I attribute that to his success thus far with the biologics.

I got into fasting after learning about all of the potential benefits...including the nearly 500 lbs Scott who had no excess skin after fasting for over a year. However, I learned that in absence of plants, but in the presence of high amounts of animal protein you can actually inhibit mTor in the liver while enhancing mTor in the muscles. Additionally, high amounts of animal protein are linked to neurogenesis...so I'm hoping to repair some nerve damage rather than treat pain and symptoms. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Thanks for the background - really interesting - "cautiously optimistic' is how I feel with my 1st fast longer than 4 days:) Look forward to more updates over your journey.

Tomorrow is my 12 th day, I do IF about 18 hours but today I woke up hungry and ate my first meal at lunch. What seems to work for me sooo far, I eat my dinner, and I'm full, then I plan to eat a second dinner in a few hours in my feed window lol. Like Chinese food, eat again a few hours later.v I'm supper strict, for elimination purposes. If I do and up cheating, which I haven't in 2.5 months, knock on wood, I will cheat with keto and still keep carba at 20. But hopefully that will be planned like around holidays. You've had interesting success so far! My head is clear for the first time more then a day on YEARS. No need for any meds. I hope you have great success!
