I am actually beginning to feel jealous of everyone losing weight! I have 138 for a month! I work out 6 days a week, count every calorie that enters my body and nothing!!!! UGH! So what do I do? Should I go to the doctor and see if I have a gland issue or just chalk it up to crap luck? I don't know...

Have you tried to do some light weights? Maybe mix up your workout and make sure you are getting your needed sleep.

Is your goal weight realistic for your age, height and structure? Are you already in a healthy weight range for your height? Have you been on and off weight loss plans? So many things can effect weight loss. Are you getting enough lean protein, fruits and veggies? Are you drinking enough liquids/water? (flushes out sodium). You know you have the exercise down, so it goes back to food. You may need to play around with your caloric intake. Try a week of eating 1300 every day and see what happens. Make those calories count with good healthy food. You should also take your measurements because many people who exercise a lot, see fat loss before the scale loss (especially when they start at a lower weight). It can take longer when you have smaller amounts to lose. Play around with your calories and food and see what happens. Good luck!

It's easy to get to a plateau when you start getting closer to your goal weight - I'm going through that right now too. You need to "shock" your body by doing something different. ZigZag your calories for a couple weeks - change up your workout routine. See if that does anything...

Food for thought (no pun intended :) )I was working out ~1.5 hrs/day, 5 days/wk, eating all right foods (~1600 cals/day) and 100 oz water - and not losing a POUND! Very frustrating .... saw family doctor and was told I was not consuming ENOUGH calories. Phys Ed teacher daughter confirmed. Doctor said at workout frequency and intensity, I should be consuming 2100-2300 cals/day of right foods (good, lean protein, fruit, veggies, etc.). That was a few days ago. I just ordered P90X (?) to see if that will make a difference. Hope to start that in a few days. Also check your daily sodium intake ....... good luck!

It might be worth having your thyroid function checked; hypothyroidism is common in women, and can slow your metabolism.

You know, the experts around here say that you need a minimum of 75 grams of protein every day. So you could probably stand to get a bit more protein in your diet. Someone above mentioned slightly increasing your caloric intake, which might also be the ticket. Remember, if there's a huge btwn the amt of calories you're eating, vs the amt of calories you burn off, your body can go into starvation mode which totally kills your metabolism. Eat a bit more protein every day, I betcha that does it. Good luck, hope the MD doesn't find anything serious. :)
