I want to know if the people who write these diet books have ever had weight problems or food addictions. Because in every diet book I've read they say after a week or so you won't even miss the bread or sweets. Well I can tell you that's a lie because I've been on this diet for over 3 weeks and I really miss all the things I've had to cut out except the fried foods and sugary drinks. Food is my only passion. I love my kids, my man and my family but food is the only thing that has always been there for me. When I'm sad I eat. When I'm mad I eat. When I'm stressed I eat. When I want to celebrate I eat. So how can they tell me if I stop eating it I won't miss it?

I can tell you from my own experience that you can eventually get to that point. What they don't tell you is that it takes a lot longer than 3 weeks, and that it will only happen if you completely avoid bread and sweets without even one bite. For me, it's like a sleeping beast...one bowl of pasta or one piece of cake, and it starts to wake up. I don't miss it as long as I don't ever eat it. I never dreamed I'd get to this point, but I have. You don't have an addiction, you have a habit that is fed by hormones that tell your body to get more of that good stuff. This is complicated and I feel your pain. Food is there, but it is not there for you. Only people can do that.

I have to agree at this point w/you - I think they do lie lol. I've been on my new plan for 4 weeks now and for whatever reason...this week I was craving the foods I can't have! So I do feel your pain and maybe, just maybe when you have been on a new plan for a few months those cravings do go away. I guess only time will tell.
