I stepped on our scale at home today, and it read -- get this -- 185. However, I have to always add 6 to 7 pounds to it to get it accurate with Angel's scale or the scale at school. So I penciled it in at 192, which is still a loss of 4 pounds since last week. Now that I think about it, I believe that last week was only a 3 pound weight loss because I probably had some water gain from my period. I don't know. My body is weird. It does what it does.

I feel awesome! I don't know if it has something to do with not eating any meat these past two days. I'm going to try to avoid meats as much as I can, just because I've discovered that the vegetarian stuff they have at the grocery store tastes great.

Another reason why I want to avoid eating meat is because last week, on the "Fabulous Beakman Boys" show, the boys had their pet pigs slaughtered so they could "appreciate" their food source. Pat called me crying about it, and I told her I was never going to watch the show again. This is my point: If you're KNOW you're going to slaughter an animal, you don't freaking name it "Porky" or "Bess" or whatever. YOU TELL IT TO "PUT THE LOTION IN THE BASKET, OR IT WILL GET THE HOSE AGAIN!" (From Silence of the Lambs LOL) You don't train it to trust you and love you the way these guys obviously did with their pigs -- only for them to hire other people to shoot them in the head and lo and behold, show off 40 pounds of bacon they got for them. That's awful. That's like me killing Gatsby and eating him.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a vegetarian. I eat my share of pork and other meats. But I think what the show forced carnivores like to me to realize is that this stuff is coming from animals that get SLAUGHTERED. And it bothers so much that I've essentially contributed to the world population's demand for meat. Maybe if I work on eating less of it, I don't have to feel so much guilt for the deaths of Porky and Bess.

I'm going to get off the soapbox now.
