well i have to say, its been so long since ive been here, i really had no idea if i had progressed, remained the same or gained....and was pleasantly surprised to see i have actually maintained. i discontinued weight watchers meetings some time ago with just not having a convenient time to get there and shuffling kids around, etc.... i have, however discovered a few weeks back, the clean eating ideas that are in tosca reno's book and cook book. it all makes such perfect sense to me that i began implementing the habits right away and have not had much trouble sticking with it. i am amazed at how quickly the body responds to such a change by cutting out sugar and eating whole natural foods and actually drinking the amount of water that is recommended. within 2 days i noticed several changes, all positive! my taste for sugar really dwindled to the point that when i did eat something (that previously i would have considered not so sweet, the simply fruit jelly) it was so intensely sweet i could not finish it, but took only a bite and threw the rest away. me-a true sugar fiend-no longer craves the sugar like i did. i was having issues in the late afternoon with sitting at my desk and wanting a nap sooo bad, but have really stuck to the major water drinking and found the afternoon dozing and headaches have almost come to a complete halt. i have been practicing the clean eating...and not to perfection, and without any supplements for 2 weeks now, just following the basic principles, and without any major excersise (i try to run once or twice a week and walk 4-5 times a week for 30 mins) and managed to drop 1.5 lbs the first week and another pound this week. eating every 2-3 hours which is when i typically start to feel the hunger, i eat and stick to a protein and complex carbs together with lots of water and never get hungry. i am really focusing on retraining myself to eat till i am no longer hungry, no more, no less! for the first time ever, the thought of 30 lbs to lose looks very attainable!
