ok....2 words: AUNTIE ANNE'S. She used to be my best freind..at least her yummy cinnamon sugar butter soaked soft and doughy pretzels. NOW-she seems to be my worst enemy! I have never been able to pass up an Auntie Annes in the mall and today was another one of those days, I am sorry to say. I have been doing great with the water, cutting out the regular soda and getting in the veggies..but those freakin pretzels are gonna kill me every time. You could dangle a doughnut, ice cream, a starbucks capuccino, anything else in front of me and I could, theoretically and realistically pass it up and say NO. I have not done a lick of exercise in about 3 months since I got this nasty little virus that, I found out is intended for you to catch as a child, but if you get it as an adult, one of the major ailments is months of nasty arthritis. So, I am someone, who..in the past, was fairly active on a regular basis. I am only recently feeling back to norm body wise and up for getting back into the swing of the exercise thing without feeling like an 80 year old woman. So, I signed up for a belly dancing class. And, yes, the first question I asked was...DO I HAVE TO SHOW MY BELLY? The answer was no...and that was the deciding factor for me as to whether I would attend or not. My daughter (4 years old) is getting ready to start the children's class and I talked my mother, who is very in shape and thin-of course-to attend the class with me. So-I am very excited and I can count that as at least an hour and a half every Saturday for the next 8 weeks, as my activity that gets my bod moving. Its a start, and something I have always wanted to try. I gave up running last year after my knees were about shot after I trained for and ran the Rock n roll 1/2 marathon in 2005. After that, as much as I say I am going to go for a walk, I end up blairing my MP3 in my ears and breaking into an all out run. Then I pay for it for the next 3 days as my knees are screaming out in pain and I am poppin Aleve like crazy. So, I think the belly dancing ...and some swimming might be the ticket for me these days! Till next time........night!
