Well the oul assessor for this Quality award that we are striving for will fly back to the UK later today which should mean no more running round like a headless thingy and life as we know it should return to its normal blissful insanity thereafter! (And not a second too soon!! I was beginning to lose the power of my involuntary twitch because I had to act all normal and semi intelligent for so long, I even had to use big words like 'determination' and 'marmalade' good job he never asked me how to spell them!)

I was telling this to a great friend of mine recently and I still don't quite understand it meself.. but for AGES we have yearned for a broadband internet connection out in rural Ballybackofthemap where we live... then the other week we finally get it.. with much fanfare and trumpets etc... and now that we have it... we cannot find the time to use it. If we spend time in this solidary pursuit at home it detracts from time spent with family and doing school lunches and dinners and homework and training and walking the dogs and drinking wine while chatting and bedtimes and preparation and and reading and stuff 'n' stuff.. its been terrific for hopping on to get some information.. and YES there have been family times there also as the boys ask for permission to buy a truckload of stuff from e-bay.

"Ohhh cool Dad, look theres a secondhand space rocket here for less than 20,000 can we get it!"

Where do they get the stuff from! So, its taking time to get used to it, it seems like something else to find time for, and especially for Sarah who is kinda new to the whole pc thing and typing and finding her way about... can ya remember back to that time when every thing took forever and with one tap of a finger ya could lose hours of effort which caused ya to invent a whole new range in cursing and swearing! Anyway... we'll see how it goes..

The Waltons never had the Internet and they got by!!!!

Well I've been eatin' like a half starved hairy savage for the last week and keeping the carbs wayyyyy down... last night me Da said that I had lost a "fierce" amount of weight! and at Rugby training last Saturday one of the other Dads came up and told me that I was fadin' away!!! So somethnig must be happening other than what I see on the scale which will soon be given a 'name' like other illustrious folk have done here.. only my name might be unpronouncable.. like 'feckity @#~%face' (us Irish are a coarse race!)

Anyhoodle... I have half a million journals to try to catch up on over the next while I also have to live down the embarrassment of losing my team on the 20g challenge!! THAT will take a while (lets never talk of it again! lol) 'Go RUBIPHIRES'

UPDATE
The assessor has just left for the airport and I'm delighted to report that we are now apparantly a "Quality Company"... so all the hours and effort over the last year and preparation over the last week or so has paid off...thanks be to Jeebus!

It's probably a blessing in disguise that you and your family hadn't fallen prey to the time stealing ways of the internest at home before now. It's a lot like a molasses spill. It spreads slowly but it gets into everything and is a @#$%& to clean up! Best of luck keeping yourselves from turning into pod people with your arms stuck in a permanent praying mantis-like pose :S Oh! And great job on keeping your carbs down and garnering all of those adoring comments from the gentlemen about town (!).

Nice to have you back Dave. Glad the 'thingy' at work went well and you can relax a little. As for internet... DO NOT let the boys get access to 'myspace' or you will be in for it!!! My husbands hangout is 'craigslist' and I'm here WAY too much! Keep your family time top priority... but don't forget about us out here! :)

GREAT JOB becoming a QUALITY COMPANY. Marmalade is a tough one for me to say without an involuntary spasm, good for you! Don't worry, you'll work in a few extra hours here and there.

Ah yes, the curse of the internet! It steals time from everyone...even my little girls who want to play webkinz or playhousedisney or fairies.com, etc.! lol Great on getting them compliments!! Keep up the hard work, and no worries that your team dwindled away... it happens! I've got a few challenges under my belt and well, there are many no shows, each and every time. It's not easy putting it all together and making it work. Keep on kickin' it up!! OH.... do you know the Irish comedian (know of) Tommy Tiernan?? We rented a video of his last week, and bought choked half to death on our popcorn, laughing!! He's a riot!

I thought stopping by to read your journal would be relaxing and help make my migraine go away, I think I better find another pain pill and go back to bed, maybe all this will look better, or make sense, later. LOL
