Needing to update my life - so people know I am not 'abandoning' anyone! LOL!!! But I am going on vacation. We will be heading out in a few days (by the weekend), and gone thru Easter. Will I be on here at all??? I am not sure!
I tend to wake up early. Generally 5-6AM. Even on vacation!!! So, while at a hotel, I will likely throw on my sweats, and head down to the lobby in search of a fresh cup of coffee... some morning fresh air... and leave behind the quiet of two men (my husband and son) to sleep off their morning without me!
I will likely find the 'computer station' (which most hotels now have) in the lobby area - and if they have one... and everyone else is sleeping... then I will likely try to come here once in awhile in the early AM to check in. Might skip a day or two... and if I do... just know that I am thinking of you all... but without Internet access somewhere.
Then I will hit the Hotel gym... round out my morning in the shower... and start my day w/ my family.
So, where are we going???? Well, my 16 yr old (will be 17 next Monday) started all of this. He made a comment about how he had never been to NYC, never seen the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Bldg and always wanted to! So - we are going there!
My hubby, - well, he has more important things on his mind... A PHILLY CHEESESTEAK!!! to be exact! He's never been there, and always wanted to have one (a personal favorite of his) ... so we will throw in the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall while we are at it!
Then on to DC. I tried to write to my congressman to get approved and get tickets to tour the White House... but was informed that Tours were unavailable during the time we will be there! Wonder if they did a background check and figured out we are Republicans! LOL!!! Oh well, still lots of other things to do and see in DC! LOTS!!!
Plus we are hoping to take the 17 yr old for a stop by visit to Liberty University for a campus check. (Evie - if you read this, could you send me a priv message with a contact number... not sure of the day yet when we could squeeze it in...but if weather rains on our parade ... that might be the day! :)
Will certainly get lots of walking and such in while away! Hope you all stay true to yourselves - and love yourselves - EVERYDAY! Will take lots of pic's while sightseeing... so hopefully I will have a couple to post when I get back.
Running hard today... have to get the last of my chores done regarding my son's HS play, the programs, some papergoods, some baking, etc...
Tomorrow... an oil change, some car stuff, a mani/pedi ( LOVE )
One crazy busy... out of control week!!! Is it Friday yet???

Nice to go on vacation. Hope you have a great time. I'll also be thinking of you and wishing I was on vacation as well.lol NYC, why not south or someplace warm and sunny? Oh well, have a safe trip and enjoy. LOL on the background check. Stay safe in your travels.:)

If I had my way... we would be going to the Bahamas or someplace yummy like that!!! But the men in my life are 'adventurous' to a point... they first wanted to go out to Utah to go skiing! I don't ski, so I said NO! Thank you, but NO! Then, I tried to find some place 'reasonable' for a trip - somewhere WARM and sunshiney, and where I could swim, and beach, and relax away... and they said NO! (we typically go on that type of a vaca...) They wanted to do some sightseeing! Heck, you can see stuff in the bahamas :( Anyway, my hubby and I realized this will likely be the last time our soon to be 17 yr old wants to vaca w/ his parents...anywhere! So - we left it up to him... WHAT WOULD HE LIKE TO DO... OR... SEE... OR... GO TO... that he has never seen, or done, etc... That's where the whole NYC thing came in, then since we were going to be so close, my husband threw in the Philly side trip for a sandwich, and I REALLY wanted to tour the White House! Something I have wanted to do since I was a kid... but have never been able to get to. And still won't ... but the 17 yr old was game w/ DC. He loves museums, and wants to see the FBI bldg, and all the monuments, memorials, etc... loves history, loves government... etc... so we will make the best of it! All I asked was that we stay someplace nice enough that has both an indoor and outdoor pool... so if the weather does happen to be nice enough one or two days, and I don't feel like truding thru another museum, I can hang back at the Hotel like it's my personal resort...and lounge by the pool! It'll have to do!!!

Paula...so excited for you..and your upcoming trip..there is sooooo much to do and see....I was born in the city, but grew up in Long Island...weekend visits to NYC were alwsys something to look forward too...If possible try to sneak in a play, Broadway or Off-Broadway...doesn't really matter. As for your hubby looking forward to the trip...for his own personal reasons, got too say, pretty darn sure I would be focused on the same..the food and variety of what you can get...is amazing....! Hope you get on once in a while...but if not....surely would understand.....hope your vacation is WONDERFUL! By the way, where are you staying..while there? Hugs to you.

Have a great vacation, you are right, it might be the last one for a while that your son wants to share with you although my 27 year old wants to come with us to Florida next year! We are gently dissuading her with cries of 'get a life' - lol. I hope you have a fab time.

Hope you have an awesome vacation. We have toured the midwest, the west, and the southeast extensively, but have not had the opportunity to tour the northeast. Maybe someday!
