Wow...I know I've only lost 2 lbs., but I swear my pants seem more comfortable! I have so much reading to do, though, to really get an understanding of this "diet". From years of conditioning, I am having a difficult time understanding how I can eat so much fat and lose weight. And geez...with eggs every morning, am I setting myself up for cholesterol problems and a heart attack? I'm off to buy the book today.

Great job on losing the 2lbs! The true way to gauge your progress is by wearing clothes. If you can wear smaller clothes comfortably then you're doing great, no matter what the scales say. I totally agree on the reading to get an understanding about diet & proper nutrition. There are a lot of foods we eat that we simply don't need. As far as cholesterol, your body makes it's own cholesterol itself! So you don't really need any extra cholesterol at all. Just remember that ALL animal products (beef, dairy, poultry, fish) have cholesterol. In other words, if it had lungs, it has cholesterol. Also keep in mind that animal products contain quite a bit of saturated fats and high sodium. Overall, try to get as much understanding about nutrition as you can. You might be surprise to find out a lot of foods that are hyped up really isn't good for your overall health. I wish you well buddy & keep up the great work.

Thanks for the encouragement. I guess maybe I wasn't very clear on my journal entry, but I'm doing Atkins. Or at least trying to do Atkins. That's why I was concerned with the cholesterol issue. I did purchase the Atkins book, which is pretty interesting. And...I'm now down 5 lbs. Next goal...exercise!
