Goal weight reached! (And... I am going to have a chocolate ice-cream shake to celebrate.)

Took longer than I thought but happy to be here. Realistically, I am going to allow my weight to float to 2kg either side of my goal weight, staying between 50 and 54. Don't think I will reach 50, but will continue with my eating pattern as is for a few days before I start maintenance calories. Today will be an off day for me. :)

Thank you to everyone here for your support, advice and encouragement. I swear I would not have reached this goal without you.

@Leeannjospeh12 Thank you :) I found if I stick to my calorie requirements - and posted my wins, losses and frustrations here - it eventually paid off :)

What diet plan did you follow? Well done!

@ S&P You will reach your goal. I know there are health issues and ups and downs, but believe me, if you stick you plan and calorie restrictions and make sure your body is getting the nutrition it needs, you WILL get there. Stay here too because people will help get you through. They helped me, so I have a debt to people here to help too. The encouragement, advice and sometimes kick in the rear does help. Stick with it S&P because you have others (and me!) on this journey with you. We all walk together :)

@Caricevcb Thank you. No specific diet plan followed, but the most important thing was to stick to my calorie requirements 80% of the time. I did fall off the wagon a few times but I got back on. Also generally I tried to eat higher good fat, moderate carbs and adequate protein. The nutrition aspect was more important to me in that I tried to make sure I was eating healthy and feeding my body what it needs most days. I looked at my food requirements over a week so if I wanted a chocolate bar for lunch on a bad day, it was ok, I had to make it up the next. The nutrition requirements were most important as I took the time to learn how to eat properly because I am a vegetarian and tried to keep my "diet" as close to my normal eating habits as possible so that when I needed to transition off it would be easier. This was not going to be a crash diet or yoyo weight exercise. Weight loss was slow and steady but the lessons learned along the way most valuable. I can apply that going forward now. Good luck with your own journey and the best advice I can give you is to be kind to you and eat with your overall health in mind :)

@Shihaam R and @Shamidah - thank you so much! I hope to keep it off and learn to behave (ie eat better) in the future :)

Thank you Pascoal77. I have learned today that my goal weight was a thumb sucked number... Hehe. It was my ideal weight 10 years ago and I wanted it back. Problem is 10 years later I carry that same weight differently. I am definitely not as lean as I was then. No worries, good enough for me. If I made more effort like you do with exercise, it may change, but for now the thought of gym gives me an allergic reaction :) Good luck and I'll my fingers crossed for May 2020 because you can do it!!

Thank you Ms Cornwall 😄 I try to exercise when I have time. Unfortunately these days, with a 2 month old and my 3 year old daughter having sinusitis. Time has not been on my side. But luckily I have gym equipment that I can quickly jump on and get at least 10-20mins in. Just for the endorphins. As my mental health needs it just as much as my heart and body needs it. If you start, you might not want to stop. Just walking outside or on the treadmill for 20/30mins a day to start with, has loads of benefits. I hope you maintain your goal weight💖

@Pascoal777. Yip the little ones will keep you busy. I get around an hour of walking time in a day as I walk my dog twice a day. I do that more for peace of mind and to de-stress as there are no phones, no distractions and my husband and I can just talk, enjoy the scenery and our dog. No real fitness benefit as I used to be a runner, but it gets me out and active. :)
