I would blame stef for making you exercise! Lol only joking stef we love you really! I know I would rather have muscle than fat and that's what has happened I would think! Laurie is saying the same thing today so yep stef is to blame! Lol

Honey, sure exercising could cause you to gain, but that is a temporary gain. The more muscle you have, the more cals your body will burn. Keep it up - it will happen. And then, if it doesn't go ahead and blame Stef. lol

lol well not ready to blame stef as of yet i know the kettlebell is helping my back and i am sore today so i am blaming water on my joints i am going to keep it up till the soreness lets up if i haven't lost by then i will look at something else

The point is to get a healthy lean strong body that will enable you to grow older in good health. The point is we don't always see are hard work on the scale when we think we will. It's what you do over time that counts with weight loss, not one week. We have weeks where we do everything right and see a gain, and weeks where we overeat and lose. If you did great this week, it will eventually show. You could drop 4 pounds (seemingly) overnight. Google "why the scale lies" for some insight in to why you can have all kinds of gains (which are water weight). You just have to except that and keep going. Patience and persistence will get you to your goal. Stop thinking "a whole week for nothing". Think "damn, I stayed on plan and exercised, I am amazing". Do this for your health and to look good. It takes a long time and hard work. The scale and your clothes will eventually show all your hard work. It takes time. You can do it.

Laura, don't you dare give up! You are doing so well, and I am so proud and happy for you. The weight will leave, it is just being stubborn right now, because you have started something new, and the body is trying to protect itself. I'm not losing either, but it will come! It truly will, as long as we stick to it! So hang in there and get that kettlebell out and exercise. And if it helps to blame me, go right ahead, I have broad shoulders, and I can take it. But truly, it will come. And if your joints are hurting, take a day off. It won't hurt you. Just walk for a day.

I hear ya, Laura. I think we should just go have a scream fest!! Are you with me???!!! I don't know what it is, but there are a lot of us longer-term peeps that are in a holding pattern right now. Wonder what's up with that? And, don't blame the exercise...you're doing great and the rewards will come!

sandy i think our bodies have burnt off all the short term fat, it was explained to me that you have 2 types of fat short term and long term, but it is easy to burn the first but the second your body will protect in order so save it for starvation. when it does this your weight loss slows if not stops. you know on the biggest loser they make it look so easy like you can just drop fat at 3 pounds a week with just a bit of simple exersizing and diet control but our bodies don't work that way. i am with stef and havedecided that my body is not going to win i am not quitting untill my body submits.

Well, Laura, I do know that I haven't been this weight or less since approximately 1990-1991, so the weight left is decidedly "long term!" I too, will not let my body win, but all of a sudden the 180 I planned to be by the end of the year is beginning to look more difficult to achieve than I thought a month ago.

Submit stupid body - submit! Quitting is for losers.

Hey Laura, I know just exactly how you are feeling. I do believe it is the exercise, but we so need it to tone us up. I was frustrated today too, but don't be. We can and will do this. I was down to 162 and now I am up to 165 OUCH. That was a slap, but I have now gotten past it and I did my exercising for today. We just need to continue and get healthier. You hang in there, as will I. We need to do it for ourselves. Hope you have a wonderful week-end.:) Did you get everything done on your car? Talk soon and keep your chin up.:)

Ahh, that's the spirit I like to see...Laura, you just show that fat whose boss...Laurie, I gained 4 pounds last week, for no apparent reason, and am working to get it off this week....Sandy, I think we have all hit the bear mode (store it all for hibernation!),lol....lotus we will never give up, don't you worry.....Keli, yes, submit, stupid fat, submit. It is time for that fat to pack it's bags and hit the pee pee highway!!!! And we all need to take a look back and see just how far we have truly come!!! This is NOT A RACE, IT IS A LIFESTYLE, there is no finish line, and we should all be damned proud of all that we have accomplished so far!!
