I am 58 years old and have had a weight problem since I was in grade school. The first time I remember being on a diet I was 12 years old. I have had many attempts since but I am currently close to my top weight right now.

I really lost weight when I was in nursing school and didn't have much money for food and I walked to the hospital and home every day....I got married right after nurses training and gradually gained some of my weight back. Lost weight again just before my first pregnancy. After two babies I was heavier than ever and got a divorce when my son was six months old.

In 1984 I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I was able to control this with diet for 15 years. When I finally went on medications I gained even more weight. Many members of my family are diabetic and now my daughter has joined that club.

In 2005 I lost my son to a work accident and since I am an emotional eater, the struggle has become even more difficult.

I have been able to lose weight at times but only with low carb plans.....Overeaters Anonymous used to have a food plan and that worked really well for me. I am now doing the belly fat cure and it is working as well.
