I had another drop today, .4 lbs. to 225 even (making my total weight loss since Dec 11th 16.6 lbs). Family outings on the weekend tend to slow me down a bit (I hate having to eat food I didn't prepare myself), but luckily today they've chosen Applebees. That chain has a decent 'lighter options' menu. Still will be more sodium than I would put in my own food, but at least it won't be a fat bomb. Hubby has expressed interest in a walking outing today as well, so we may do that as a family later in the evening.

I didn't have time yesterday to properly plan out todays menus, so I am now trying to make sure I fit in all my fruit and veggie servings and also boost calcium intake. It's really a balancing act....maybe greek yogurt with nuts and a smoothie for my snacks will do the trick.

Anxious to cook some purple potatoes with dinner tonight...purple inside and out, have never tried these before. Going to roast them as a side dish with the rest of the meal consisting of meatloaf and cauliflower. Lots of last week's co-op veggies still need to be used, and this meal should help with that.

Almost a lb lost since last week. Moving slowly, but at least it's moving, right? Any lb gone is a lb I don't have to carry around anymore, weighing me down like an anchor.

Just finished my last walk of the week and it really is getting easier. I may bump it up a bit next week. I still get some aches and pains, but with the exception of the messed up hip I feel most of those are due to the excess weight I'm carrying. When I weigh less it will be less wear and tear on my body to get exercise.

My fridge is loaded with good produce now, for cooking and for smoothies. I was reluctant to take up smoothies, but it has become such a great way for me to get in more greens. My husband loved the recent "roasted radishes" recipe, and we have learned it only takes about a month to grow them....so adding radishes to our spring garden. It's about time to start planning out the garden space and getting some pepper and tomato seedlings started indoors too.

Got another doctor visit out of the way yesterday. I'm pretty sick of them in general. Still have an average of one per week for the next month, and who knows beyond that...I'm assuming after my March visit with my surgeon he will have me back more as my June timeframe surgery approaches. Then there is the specialist for the anemia issue, I don't have a clue what all he will have planned. I did realize yesterday though that I am not on any prescription medications at the moment....that is rare. I have a number of vitamin and mineral supplements my doctors want me taking though.

Weight is holding pretty steady at Saturday's weigh-in weight. The last few days my pain level has been it's lowest in months, and I'm enjoying it (yet trying to not overdo it and set myself back to square one). My one mile walk is getting easier, doing it three days per week. I have been giving myself at least a day in between walks, to let my muscles regroup, but considering adding in shorter walks on the alternating days...maybe half mile, 10 minutes. I do want to add in some weight training, but our home gym seems to be having some issues...something wrong with the pulley maybe. Need to see if I can do some maintenance on it.

Now it's time to plan out some menus and grocery lists. Need to do better than I did last week, because I totally ran out of spinach and lettuce this week and not shopping until tomorrow.

Weight was up slightly today, but expected it as we had our weekly family restaurant outing yesterday. I had a cheeseburger (lots of veggies, no mayo) and some homemade potato chips....and I don't regret it, but now it's time to pay the piper. All my other meals were in line with my nutritional plan and today is back to normal, so it will turn around before long. I do feel like I am losing inches though, even though weight loss has been slower of late. I haven't been measuring inches, but suppose I really should. I can tell clothing fits differently.

I had some concern over some hip pain I was having on Saturday, but took anti-inflammatories over the weekend and it seems fine now. My one mile walk is getting easier...none of my usual aches and pains are bothering me right now, which is a good sign. I'm not ready to increase my distance or add on more than the three days I currently walk yet. Don't want to push my luck. When I feel comfortable with what I'm doing and how I'm feeling, then I will look at bumping it up a notch.

Making homemade fish sticks for dinner tonight, with salad and probably some kind of beans. Lunch is leftover chicken noodle soup that I cooked in the crockpot a few days ago. I portioned and froze a lot of it, so I have some soup to go to when I need it. Now time to figure out what I can prepare this week with all my new produce I have on hand from my co-op.
