Good morning world! I was up and out early for a Sunday...but I picked up a skinny vanilla latte while I was out, so it's all good.

Weight up slightly this morning, but I expected it. I did have one slice of pizza yesterday at the party, and a small sliver of cake (which I believe was even smaller than I estimated when I logged calories). I stayed within my calories for the day though, so the spike should be temporary. We are seeing a movie later today, and there will be popcorn (no butter), but I have added that to my calculations as well. As long as I stay within the calories, it should all work out as soon as I start my walks for the week. I'm happy with how well I have handled all the events this weekend and kept to my plan. I have enjoyed some indulgences but kept it in moderation.

I picked up radishes to roast as a faux-potato side dish for lunch...a recent discovery that I really like and will go well with my grilled chicken tenders and broccoli. Dinner will be salmon patty, salad, and baked sweet potato. Need to find some time today to work on meal plans for the week.

Not at all sure about my weight this morning. I often weigh myself more than once (just to doublecheck, because I'm a bit OCD that way). It wasn't consistent...ranged from having gained a half lb to having lost a half lb. I'll just go with it and let it resolve itself. I recorded my weight yesterday anyway.

Made fresh orange juice this morning, because I read that taking iron tablets with orange juice (vitamin C) helps you to absorb them better. Had a smoothie with kale, pineapple, mango and banana....very tasty and loaded with vitamins. I still have quite a bit of kale from my co-op that needs to be used so probably quite a few smoothies in my plan this week. More and more when I'm seeing I may not have enough veggies in my daily plan, a smoothie is becoming my go-to for snack.

Now I'm preparing my one really good meal today, stuffed bell peppers (no rice) and salad. It's all downhill from here...bowling alley birthday party, pizza, and cake. All the fat, sodium, and sugar content aside, calorie-wise I have accounted for one slice of pepperoni pizza and a 2x2 slice of cake and still have about 200 calories to use if I need to. I don't want to feel deprived....but I don't want to undo all my work either. Moderation!

Finding more and more clothing in my closet that fits better already. That's a good feeling. Put on a shirt this morning that I was sure was going to feel too tight, and it doesn't. Wore a pair of sweats yesterday that I tried on right around the time I started the diet....they were much too snug for comfort then. They are very comfortable now. Even when we don't notice the changes in ourselves day to day, the clothing reveals the changes.

Not a bad week for weight loss. I attribute it to a combination of my walks, which I have increased this week...and my medications, which have had the side effect of curbing my appetite. Only ate about half my dinner last night.

Got the results of my bloodwork yesterday. The anemia I knew about, but I got my numbers. My cholesterol overall is good, only my bad cholesterol is still slightly higher than they would like but not a big concern because my good cholesterol was so good. The best news, my A1C (which has been borderline diabetic for a very long time) was the lowest it has been since they started testing me for it! Now just have to figure out the anemia...seeing a specialist in March. In the meantime, taking big doses of iron supplements the doctor prescribed.

It's going to be a tough weekend, birthday parties, movies, etc. Moderation is the word I have to remember!

Dropped a whole lb since yesterday, that is 3 lbs since last Friday. That 1 lb is misleading though, I fear, as I was so sick yesterday from the iron and antibiotics. Will see how it looks tomorrow, as I seem to have adjusted better to the medicine now and although my appetite still isn't strong at least I don't feel sick. I expect the weight may go up just a tick though as I replenish fluids.

I did walk the entire mile yesterday, even though I felt weak. The time wasn't as good as it was earlier in the week, but I made it through.

Spent my entire morning arranging various doctor appointments. Seems like it would be easier if they just put me in a hospital for a day and they all took turns examining me. It would certainly be easier for me. lol I have at least one appointment a week for the next 5-6 weeks.
