It's official... my BMI is out of the red zone. (I actually thought this happened weeks and weeks ago, but my doctor recently took my height, and I'm almost two inches shorter than I thought I was, which really set me back!) I realize BMI has its issues, but it's still a milestone to be able to plug my height and weight in and no longer see the word "Overweight" pop up.
Not only do I now weigh 154.5 pounds, but I just ran my very first 5K last weekend. Mind you, it was s-l-o-w... my time was 36:27... but I never stopped chugging along! Even though I thought I would eventually slow to a walk, I never did.
Hoo-ee! :-) Life's pretty exciting right now.
The only negative (if you can call it that!) is that I need to find a corner of my budget for new clothes. All of mine are officially way too big now, and I can't keep coming to work in poorly fitting clothes. But you know what... that's the kind of problem I don't mind having! ;-)

Yet another pound gone, less than a week since my last weigh-in! I'm at 155.9 today, a number I sincerely never thought I would ever see again. I can feel the difference - even my newer clothes are loose, all my rings are loose, and when I went to my usual Oscar party, one of the people I only ever see on Oscars night actually said, "Oh my God! You look totally different!"
And obviously I am going to meet my goal of 153 sooner rather than later.
It's downright miraculous, and I am loving it.

Slow and steady wins the race, and I am winning! One pound down since February 10, bringing me to a miraculous 157.1 pounds. I am thrilled. This is the weight my doctor wanted me to hit, in order not to be "overweight" according to my BMI. I realize there are problems with using BMI as a gauge, but hey, I've met my doctor's weight guideline, and that makes me happy.
In other news, a colleague convinced me to sign up for a 5K run/walk on March 13. If you had told me one year ago that I would be thirty pounds lighter and signed up for a 5K right now, I would have laughed and said you must be thinking of someone else. Mind you, I intend to WALK this one. I am going to try to run most or all of the 5K Color Run on June 25, but I am nowhere near ready for that yet!
Onward to 153!

Half a pound down. Pretty awesome, considering all the eating and drinking I did last weekend! I did try to make up for it the last three days, and I guess it paid off.
Excited to be firmly in the 150s, finally. :-) Onward to 153!

A pound gone! YES!
It's funny, I still think of my "normal" weight as being 188 pounds, because I weighed that for years, even though it's been about a year now since my weight loss journey began. Now I'm less than a pound away from being a whole 30 pounds lighter than that.
Think about that. 30 pounds is four gallons of liquid. That would be like if I filled four gallon jugs of water and carried them around all day. That's what I was carrying around for years. And now that's pfft! - gone. And it feels amazing.
This really is an exciting journey.
