I noticed something when I clicked on the sweetener. You might want to re do the recipe--the way the splenda is entered as "8oz" means weight, not volume. I assume you meant 1-1/2 cups, (12 volume ounces = 72 tsp (119 calories), since that's the only volume measurement that shows w/ Splenda), not 8 oz weight, which turns out to be between 700 & 800 calories. The calorie count would definitely go down
It looks fantastic, by the way!!

Using full fat sour cream, cream cheeses and ditching the Splenda, using an alternative sweetener in this recipes will make it Atkins phase two friendly. One cup of Splenda has 24g of carbs. Although this is an excellent LOWER CARB cheesecake for maintenance, the large amount of Splenda could make it a hazard for many as far as blood sugar on a low carb woe. Splenda can and has halted weight loss in many including myself, specially when used in mass quantities like baking. Remember that manufacturers replace the fats in light or low fat foods with some type of carb/sugar and sodium to try and make up for the flavor and texture that fat attributes. Low carbers wouldn't necessarily benefit from those kinds of products if they are carb sensitive.

You can't have chocolate on Induction... and the low fat versions of products have more carbs

I can't wait until I get to the next phase of Atkins to try this! There are too many carbs for the Induction phase...I'm pretty sure you could lower the carb count significantly by using regular cream cheese and sour cream, though!

I have made this recipe twice now. I LOVE IT! The first time I messed up and did not let the chocolate cool completely and my cream cheese was pretty cold so it was hard to mix and my cheesecake was not very "tall". It still tasted good. The second time I let the cream cheese come close to room temp and I let the chocolate cool completely and it was easy to mix and came out much taller and creamier. I took it to every family function for Thanksgiving (the same cheesecake - 3 dinners)and I told EVERYONE that it was low sugar and low fat (so they would leave it alone and it would be all mine.) Then I wasn't tempted to eat the other desserts. It was a brilliant plan until at the 3rd function several other people were dieting too and I lost almost the remainder of my cheesecake. I am making another one soon. Thank you so much for this recipe!!!!!!!

fat free and light have more carbs than the regular stuff so if you use regular in the place of light and low fat it will lower the carb count also whipped cream cheese has less carbs than plain.
